Fresh from launching the non-turbo Magnite EZ-Shift model back in 2023, Nissan SA has added a new Kuro derivative of the cute crossover.
It is the Japanese word for black, but the new Nissan Magnite Kuro can be had in four exterior colour options: black, white, silver and red.
The new Kuro nameplate is based on the Acenta manual and automatic models, and is differentiated by the fitment of an black roof rails, black front and rear skidplates and alloy wheels. These changes add some 10k to the price of the Acenta specification. Features include an armrest and modern items such as wireless charging, around view monitors and keyless access and start.
The Nissan Magnite Kuro range is powered by a turbocharged 1.0l three-cylinder petrol engine. It produces 74kW and 160Nm in five-speed manual guise. The Magnite Acenta Kuro auto uses the same engine but is mated to a continuously variable transmission with outputs of 74kW and 152Nm. Fuel consumption averages are said to be 5.2I/100km for the manual and 6.0l/100km for the auto.

“Having made our name in SA with powerhouse vehicles like the Navara, we are aiming to increase our product range across the country, so we can offer even better driving experiences for more diverse markets, says Stefan Haasbroek, marketing director at Nissan Africa.
“The Magnite Kuro’s understated sophistication, technological advances, and overall aesthetic are perfect for the driver who wants to stand out,” he says.
