A playground for generations of South Africans, the estuary-endowed Sunshine Coast between Bushman’s River Mouth and the Great Fish River lured my wife, Annette, and me to its shores.
After a busy time visiting our Gqeberha-based daughters, we tack on a couple of days in Port Alfred before returning to the Western Cape. We’re aware that to properly explore this sensationally scenic and activity-laden area, you need a week or more, but we figure two nights are better than none...
