A high court hearing to decide the fate of amendments to Gauteng's Gambling Regulations with effect from April 1 2019 has been postponed.  The urgent application brought by Phumelela Gaming & Leisure has been opposed by the MEC and the Gauteng Gambling Board. Originally enrolled for hearing on Tuesday April 9 2019, Phumelela told shareholders the answering affidavit of the MEC and the Gauteng Gambling Board was only delivered a day before this, resulting in the need to postpone the court application “by agreement between the parties”. “This removal will enable Phumelela to adequately consider and respond to the answering affidavit,” the company said.
