You know someone has lost the argument when they start complaining about word count. On behalf of the chicken importers who are killing South African jobs, David Wolpert complains among other things that a Business Day report devoted more words to the chicken industry’s side of the argument than to his (Biased poultry reporting, March 29). While Wolpert counts words, South Africans are counting the jobs lost because of dumped chicken imports. We should be investigating the people responsible for those job losses. We should hold the dumpers to account in the way they would understand: punishing their greed by clawing back the money they have cost the poor whose livelihoods have been destroyed by dumping.
