SA’s cricketers spent a week enjoying “time away from the game” but will have spent the days before Thursday’s start at the Oval doing normal nets and training. Given what’s at stake for the Proteas — victory will go a long way towards a return to London and the final of the World Test Championship next year — it’s been a peculiar period of preparation.     ..
