The credit rating downgrade we now have to live with at great cost, demands a response to salvage the economic future of our country. A possible solution is nothing less than a tax revolt. This is very achievable as there is a very narrow base of taxpayers, who are already demotivated by what benefits they expect to enjoy versus tax money paid. It is a regime-changing solution that is nonviolent (as in Gandhi) and will have a game-changing outcome. It will cut the legs off the corrupters by removing the financial lubrication they rely on. I propose that Outa be charged with taking the project forward after its excellent work in taking down the equally corrupt Gauteng e-tolls project. Perhaps Pravin Gordhan would come out of retirement to assist? He understands the constraints of tax-collection better than anyone — and enjoys my vote, for sure. AR ViljoenElgin
