Specialist tobacconists are calling for an exemption to the government’s proposed ban on tobacco displays, saying the measures will harm small business but will not stop smoking. The findings are contained in a survey conducted by tobacco products distributor Clippa Sales.

The government intends to tighten restrictions on tobacco products and bring e-cigarettes into the regulatory net for the first time with the Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Control Bill, which is before parliament..
