THE Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Friday officially announced who it recommended for judicial appointment, saying that in future recommended candidates will be announced immediately after the commission has voted.In the past, the JSC has waited until the president has been informed of its choices before publicly announcing them. But the news invariably leaks — as it did last week when highly respected silk Jeremy Gauntlett was once again overlooked for appointment to the Western Cape High Court.On Friday, JSC spokesman CP Fourie confirmed that the recommended candidates for the Western Cape High Court were Judith Cloete, Mokgoatji Dolamo, Babalwa Mantame, Owen Rogers SC and Ashton Schippers SC.He also confirmed that Judge Achmat Jappie was recommended for deputy judge president of the KwaZulu-Natal High Court.
