The National Treasury is working with the Reserve Bank on the gold and foreign exchange contingency reserve account, the head of the Treasury’s budget office, Edgar Sishi, told MPs on Friday. 

He did not indicate the nature of the discussions or their purpose, but said there is work going on that is governed by legislation. Sishi appeared before parliament’s two finance committees to respond to submissions made to the committees during public hearings on the medium-term budget policy statement (MTBPS). ..
