RETAILER Woolworths on Tuesday announced the appointment of Scott Fyfe as CEO of its Australian subsidiary, the Country Road Group.Fyfe joins the group after 20 years at global retailer Marks & Spencer where he has worked in a wide variety of roles, including buying, merchandising and sourcing.Fyfe replaces Matt Keogh, who is resigning from the business to pursue new career opportunities. Fyfe’s appointment takes effect from early 2017.Woolies initially acquired the controlling stake in Country Road in 1998 before acquiring all the remaining the shares in 2014.Woolies has a market value of R83.65bn on the JSE, having declined 20% so far this year.
