THE chief whip of the African National Congress in the National Assembly, Mathole Motshekga, has been replaced, party secretary-general Gwede Mantashe announced on Thursday.His successor is Stone Sizani, a member of the party’s national executive committee (NEC).Mr Motshekga’s removal from the top ANC job in the National Assembly follows months of intense speculation that he would be replaced because in the ANC’s Mangaung conference last December he failed to gain a place on the NEC.Mr Mantashe told a news conference that it had been policy in the ANC since 2008 that the chief whip had to be a member of the NEC.
