East Africa offers pointers to SA on infrastructure

SA can learn from the success stories of East Africa’s fast growing economies, which have made concerted efforts to ramp up economic growth and invest in infrastructure and are increasingly turning to private sector participation to help fund this, consultancy Oxford Economics said.
Economist Shani Smit-Lengton and political economist Zaynab Hoosen pointed to initiatives to optimise and expand ports and road infrastructure in Tanzania and v, which have drawn on World Bank and Chinese funding as well as bringing in private players. ..
