Cyril Ramaphosa is reported to have said in his speech at the South African Communist Party’s 14th national congress that he "will not keep quiet". Yet he has been silent for many years in the face of overwhelming evidence — not to mention his inside track on the whole thing too, as deputy president. I find it rather disingenuous of him to come out with this now when things are at a point where it is no longer possible to keep quiet. It is opportunistic, sickening and insulting. Everything that has happened has happened on his watch as deputy president. To plead ignorance now is dishonest. It’s not just "them", Cyril, it’s you too. Lead. Step up. Confess. Own it. Then get out of the way of someone who can come in and fix it. James DrewVia e-mail
