Nothing demonstrates this better than the bunch of misfits, liars and alleged state capture looters the ANC wants to send to parliament after the May election. After weeks of heavy criticism, the party this week seemed to try to save face. In a move akin to putting lipstick on a pig, it announced it would refer its list of candidates for the upcoming elections to its integrity commission. For weeks the party has been taking flak over the calibre of candidates it placed on the list submitted to the Independent Electoral Commission of SA (IEC). It has ignored that criticism, sticking to the line that people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Of course, it could have referred the list to the integrity commission for vetting before submitting the list to the IEC. Now it is too little, too late. The list cannot be amended. But some in the governing party do not believe sending the list to the integrity commis...
