Pravin Gordhan’s litigation is ‘storm in a teacup’, says Oakbay in court papers
Gupta-owned Oakbay Investments has filed an outline of its heads of arguments in an application brought by the finance minister in the high court
Gupta-owned Oakbay Investments has filed an outline of its heads of arguments in the application brought by Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan in the high court, where it has reiterated its assertion that the matter is frivolous, calling it a "storm in a teacup". "It is unnecessary, frivolous litigation aimed at making a political point and ought not to have been brought," it said in the papers filed on Friday. It has asked the court the dismiss Gordhan’s application. The minister has applied to the High Court in Pretoria for a declaratory order confirming he could not intervene in a dispute between Oakbay Investments and four banks. The matter is expected to be heard on March 25.
