Reading an article about Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma being "a woman of substance" would have been laughable if it was not so critical for SA’s future. There were several slip-ups during her tenure in government departments before her elevation to African Union (AU) chairwoman. When she was health minister she blew R14.2m on the now infamous play Sarafina ll that was shelved. Then millions of rand were blown on a quack HIV/AIDS treatment called Virodene that had no effect. After she left her position as minister of home affairs, more than 36,000 ID documents were returned to rectify mistakes. The comments flying around during and after her tenure at the AU were anything but complimentary. The chairman of the Human Rights Commission, Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, said: "Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma failed to do her job and there is no evidence of any work done or achievements during her tenure.
