Having been somewhat ambivalent on Sport and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula, I happened to watch his address on Friday last at the late Joost van der Westhuizen’s memorial service. I thought the minister was just outstanding. His tribute was well crafted, poignant, compassionate, inclusive and very sincere. And it was impeccably delivered. After the anarchic state of the nation address debacle the night before, where integrity was quite hard to spot, Mbalula restored some faith in our government. While the occasions were of course very different, his boss was out for a royal duck, whereas the minister played out of his boots. Rob LloydVia e-mail
