It shouldn’t be from the current Currie Cup alone that conclusions should be drawn on any perception of a widening chasm between the two SA franchises that are furthest down the road to professionalism and the rest.
There just hasn’t been enough integrity to the competition, with the second-placed Sharks benefiting to the tune of 12 log points from the four cancelled games, for it to be used as a yardstick for who the movers and shakers are. On top of that, the competition has also been played understrength...
