Reuters is reporting that a US state legislator has filed a resolution urging people to think before they text (such a sweet notion!) and to refrain from using an emoji of the Chilean flag, which resembles the Lone Star State flag, a symbol of Texas pride. While the US is a nation of inveterate flag-wavers, it is a little optimistic to assume they use the correct flag at the correct time. It is unlikely that many flag-wavers in Texas could pick their own flag out of a line-up of, say, two. And given that the US Tennis Association recently played a Nazi-era version of the German national anthem when a German player took to the court, the request is unlikely to be met with much enthusiasm or, indeed, understanding.
