DA leader Mmusi Maimane on Thursday announced changes to the DA’s shadow cabinet following a meeting that elected Cameron MacKenzie, Malcolm Figg and Sonja Boshoff as new whips. The three replace Manny de Freitas, Alan Mcloughlin and Stevens Mokgalapa who were not re-elected. Chief whip John Steenhuisen’s position was not open for contestation as he is selected by Maimane. Deputy chief whip Mike Waters, caucus chairperson Anchen Dreyer and caucus deputy chairperson Richard Majola were all re-elected unopposed. In the team of thirteen people, the other whips who were elected are Gavin Davis, Patricia Kopane, James Lorimer, Annelie Lotriet, Erik Marais, Natasha Mazzone, Ian Ollis, Winston Rabotapi, Annette Steyn and Dirk Stubbe.
