Every week I see Mark Barnes’s Straight Talk column, but now only read the bold headings. “Strong Leaders With a Powerful Mandate Solve Challenges” (March 5) takes the cake. Does he really think and believe his own oxymoronic headings? This is someone who promised us in February 2018 that his totally dysfunctional postal service would be fixed by November 2018 and yet, even with all the mega millions of social grant monies rolling in monthly, it remains broken. I am still getting Christmas cards with “post early for Xmas” postmarks. My weekly Antiques Trade Gazette, at R55 a time, arrives weeks late if I am lucky. All of them bear a stamp saying “Time sensitive”. My subscription is due for renewal soon so please, Mark, tell me and the millions of your customers what we can expect from your pitiful (once world-class) postal service in the near future.
