At the risk of being boring, I feel that I must repeat what I have written previously. Why does the government not legalise the production and sale of marijuana? It could create jobs, save money that would be wasted on prison inmates, reduce the influence of gangs and benefit from VAT revenues. The extra tax could be used to subsidise university students. SA would not be the first country in the world to legalise the sale of dagga — some states in the US have already done so. It seems that no matter how hard the legal system tries, marijuana will always be wanted and sold, legally or illegally. Greeff, Sea Point
