It’s almost a year since SA experienced its last technical recession and the country is braced for this week’s big reveal by Stats SA: whether the economy experienced an outright contraction in the first quarter and what this implies for full -year growth.
Having had sight of less than half of the required data, economists have had a hard time estimating quarterly GDP growth. But given the horror show of available data, the results are not going to be pretty...
