If there is anybody who needs to book a plane ticket to Harare and spend some time with the locals rather than hanging out with the Zimbabwean fat cat elite in SA, it is Pan Africanist Congress spokesman Kenneth Mokgatlhe. Singing the praises of Zimbabwe’s aged president, Robert Mugabe, on the occasion of his 93rd birthday, Mokgatlhe said in a statement: "We also believe that your birthday is as important as Christmas day, which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. You have delivered freedom not only to [the] people of Zimbabwe but the entire continent." He went on to say that the PAC had decided to "break our silence and let you know how instrumental you have been to the whole [of] humanity". Clearly having met few ordinary Zimbabweans who have fled the economic hardship and political repression Mugabe has presided over, Mokgatlhe added: "Zimbabwe is the only country which experiences true freedom as their will and wants are not decided in London, but they are free in every sense ...
