The eThekwini Municipality on Wednesday launched a one-stop-shop office for investors, particularly those involved in investments projects over R500m.Durban can now fast track developers’ applications for land, water licenses and electricity access, and timeously respond to enquiries about the city’s by-laws.The office will be based at the former Lion Match business park in uMngeni precinct.Ethekwini mayor James Nxumalo said the new office will cut through some of the red tape that limits business development in the city and enable it to compete with Johannesburg, Cape Town, Nairobi, Abu Dhabi and others in easing business applications.City manager Sibusiso Sithole said the centre, which will have a digital library and wi-fi hot spots, will provide access to all investors, particularly those working on mega projects over R500m."All investors and developers are welcomed.
