PRIVATE hospital group Netcare has denied union Hospersa’s claims that it failed to inform staff of its plans to outsource some of its business to retailer Clicks.Netcare said on Wednesday that it planned to outsource 37 pharmacies in its Medicross clinics, as well as the retail outlets in 51 hospitals, to Clicks.Hospersa general secretary Noel Desfontaines said at the time that Netcare had announced the development in a newsletter, and was "sailing close to the wind" with regard to the law and fair processes.On Thursday, Netcare CEO Richard Friedland said the company’s line managers had communicated with all potentially affected employees before the transaction was publicised."Netcare has always been … a proactive and transparent communicator to all of our staff members … This naturally includes all representative trade unions," he said."Senior human resources management communicated directly with official representatives of the relevant trade unions (including) Hospersa, prior to ...
