THE Black Business Council (BBC) says it is "more united than ever", after a meeting with its affiliates.Questions about its unity have arisen over its support of President Jacob Zuma.ANC stalwart and AngloGold Ashanti chairman Sipho Pityana has said the BBC’s support of Zuma is a "betrayal" and does not represent all black business.Pityana has said he is convinced not all the BBC’s members or constituent parts agree with its position."I have discussed these concerns with many black business leaders‚ including some who lead organisations affiliated to the BBC," he said last week."I take comfort in the fact that the BBC’s public statement does not represent all of us."The BBC’s stance is that Zuma should finish his term, as he was elected democratically.The BBC has a long list of corporate members and its affiliate groupings include the Black Management Forum‚ the Association of Black Chartered Accountants‚ and the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals.The BBC ...
