Kieswetter family is keen for their Australian-bred star to race in Singapore and Hong Kong in 2018
Punters who had pencilled in Whisky Baron as the horse to back in the 2017 Vodacom Durban July will have to look elsewhere as the Sun Met winner has run his last race in SA. The Kieswetter family, who own Whisky Baron, is keen for their Australian-bred star to race in Singapore and Hong Kong in 2018. With no progress in export protocols, trainer Brett Crawford’s talented performer will have to follow the usual route via Mauritius and eventually join Mike de Kock’s team in Dubai. However, it is believed the Kieswetters do not see Dubai as a major target and hope he will progress to contest the big races in Hong Kong and Singapore. The De Kock team scored with Fareeq at Turffontein on Tuesday and the stable should have another winner when One Of A Kind contests the third race at the Vaal on Thursday.
