I was not surprised when the ANC showed its middle finger to the people of SA once more with the publication of its candidate lists for the elections. So much for its integrity committee, which would have vetted and disqualified “anyone that had brought the party into disrepute or soiled their good name or sowed divisions”. All it did was to recycle the same deadwood and so all the usual charlatans are again on their voting list, such as Nomvula Mokonyane, Malusi Gigaba, Bathabile Dlamini and Mosebenzi Zwane, who are implicated in myriad of scandals. Weren't Zwane and Gigaba the ones that the president asked to resign (read fire) after being exposed? So what the ANC says and what it does are two different things. Either they don’t give a damn about us, or they do not have the calibre of people they need to run the country. My gut feeling is it is both. Jean Michel BouvierBryanston
