There is an investment product called Sasfin Guaranteed European Equity Structured Product, which enables South African investors to participate in the Euro Stoxx 50. Sitting among the companies on the Euro Stoxx 50 is the now infamous SAP. It seems somewhat insensitive to provide an offering that includes corporate entities that are implicated in corruption in SA. Of course, there are a whole lot of other companies included in the Euro Stoxx 50 that are also undesirable from my perspective, such as oil and gas (Total), car manufacturers implicated in emissions scams (Volkswagen) and chemicals (Bayer). At the end of the day, it is all about money and to hell with ethics and environmental and social damage. I would love to see a fully and truly ethical investment product, but it seems a case of "not in my lifetime". Mary-Jane MorrisSedgefield
