Is there no limit to the ANC’s ineptitude? Gauteng is facing a water crisis as a result of the inefficiency of the Department of Water and Sanitation. This is shocking and confounding. Consider also that SAA, Eskom, SABC and Sapo, are just a few of the government entities that have been rescued from insolvency. Yet they continue to stumble financially. Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba said recently: "What we are expressing is a deep appreciation of the weakening of the Eskom balance sheet." Yet the parastatal denied weekend media reports that it is facing a cash crisis. Indeed, the utility giant is getting ready to pay R13m in bonuses to its executives, while the DA says it "may not be able to pay salaries to its 49,000 employees come November".
