The health department has launched a national campaign to help eligible mineworkers access a host of unclaimed benefits, ranging from pension and provident funds to compensation for lung diseases contracted on the job.

The drive kicked off in northern KwaZulu-Natal on Monday. It is aimed at raising awareness in affected communities of benefits due to affected miners and their families, and help them navigate strict requirements for lodging claims. ..
