The ANC’s economic transformation committee is set to meet the Chamber of Mines on Tuesday over the contentious Mining Charter, after sources revealed that even the party had not been properly consulted. The Chamber of Mines is set to challenge the charter in court, mainly due to the lack of consultation by the mining department. Mining Minister Mosebenzi Zwane is a key figure in allegations around state capture, particularly regarding his alleged role in facilitating deals favourable to the Gupta family.
