THE National Freedom Party (NFP) has expelled its former treasurer-general, Xolani Ndlovu, who is blamed for the party’s failure to participate in August’s government polls.An internal disciplinary committee on Monday found Ndlovu guilty of five charges.Apart from being banned from the party for five years, Ndlovu was also fired from his position as a treasury general with immediate effect.However, Ndlovu immediately issued a statement in which he described his disciplinary hearing as nothing more than a kangaroo court, and vowed to appeal against the decisions.NFP acting national chairperson Bheki Gumbi said while Ndlovu had every right to appeal a decision against him, the party was sticking to its guns.However, the NFP’s very survival was in doubt, having lost support to the Inkatha Freedom Party, from which it broke away shortly before the 2011 local government polls, and with its leader, Zanele Magwaza-Msibi, still being too ill to provide direction.Ndlovu was suspended two mon...
