THE acquisition of Parsec by AltX-listed technology group Ansys helped its revenue jump 67% to R418.5m in the year to end-February.Ansys’s aftertax profit nearly doubled to R19m from R10m, it said in its results statement on Monday.In a deal valued at R123.5m paid half in cash and half in shares Ansys acquired Parsec in June last year.Ansys has four divisions, of which telecommunications is the largest, contributing 43% of group revenue.Its telecoms division grew revenue 23% to R178.7m, but profit fell to R2.5m from the previous year’s R7.1m, largely due to unforeseen forex losses of R6.7m, Ansys said.Its next biggest division is rail, which contributed 28% of group revenue.The division grew revenue 26.4% to R118.9m but profit declined to R12.5m from R 17.1m due to a change in its product mix and delayed roll-outs by its major clients.
