Match-by-match facts and statistics ahead of the 29th round of the Premier League from March 12-14 (SA times).

Saturday

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Liverpool (2.30pm): Brighton have won only one of their nine Premier League meetings with Liverpool, a 1-0 victory at Anfield in 2021.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is the leading goalscorer with 19 league goals this season, ahead of teammates Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota (12 each). Brighton have lost their last four league matches.

Brentford vs Burnley (5pm): Burnley will aim to do the double over Brentford after a 3-1 win in October in the teams’ first Premier League meeting.

But Sean Dyche’s Burnley will have to snap a run of two straight defeats in which they have conceded six goals without reply, while Brentford are seeking an eighth win.

Brentford last beat Burnley in September 1997 and have not won in seven meetings in all competitions since, losing the past five including an FA Cup tie in 2003.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur (7.30pm): Tottenham beat Manchester United 6-1 the last time the teams met at Old Trafford, in October 2020.

Four of Spurs’ 10 Premier League wins over United have come at Old Trafford. Manchester United’s 4-1 hammering by Manchester City last time out was their first league defeat in nine matches.

Sunday

Chelsea vs Newcastle United (4pm): Chelsea have lost 13 of their 53 Premier League meetings with Newcastle but lost only once at home.

Newcastle last beat Chelsea two years ago, a 1-0 league victory thanks to Isaac Hayden’s header in the 94th minute at St James’ Park.

Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso resumed training ahead of matches against Norwich City and Newcastle after missing the past two games due to injury and Covid-19.

Everton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers (4pm): The two teams have played 15 times in the league with Everton winning six matches and Wolves four.

Frank Lampard’s Everton, who are 17th, sit just one point above the relegation zone.

Everton have won only one of their past eight matches, which include seven defeats.

Leeds United vs Norwich City (4pm): The last four Premier League meetings between the teams have all ended 2-1, with both sides winning twice.

Norwich last beat Leeds in the Premier League in October 1994. Their last victory at Elland Road was in 1993, a 4-0 win.

This will be the eighth meeting between the teams in the competition.

Southampton vs Watford (4pm): Che Adams’s curling strike helped Southampton beat Watford 1-0 in October for their first away victory of the season.

Watford will be looking for only their third win over the Saints in their 14th Premier League meeting. They last beat Southampton in September 2017, a 2-0 win away in the league.

West Ham United vs Aston Villa (4pm): Of the 45 Premier League meetings between West Ham and Villa, 20 have ended in a draw.

West Ham have won the past three matches against Villa, scoring nine goals and conceding only once in each game.

The Hammers are looking to respond to a 1-0 loss to Liverpool in their last game, their ninth league defeat in 28 matches.

Arsenal vs Leicester City (6.30pm): Only one of Leicester’s five wins against Arsenal in 31 Premier League meetings has come away from home.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches, winning the previous four to move up to fourth in the table.

Leicester are looking to make it three wins on the trot after beating Burnley and Leeds without conceding.

Monday

Crystal Palace vs Manchester City (10pm): Manchester City have dominated their Premier League rivalry with Palace, winning 14 out of 23 matches while five have ended in a draw.

Palace won their most recent meeting in October, thanks to goals in either half from Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher, before City went on a 15-match unbeaten league run.

City have lost only one out of their previous 18 league matches, a 3-2 defeat by Tottenham in February.
