The outrage over Mzwanele Manyi’s acquisition of Gupta-owned ANN7 and The New Age is just absurd. This is not our issue — we have not been asked to assist Manyi in buying the stake. The problem with South Africans is that we are too concerned with matters that are irrelevant to us. We can’t even run spaza shops, but we are now focused on Manyi’s business interests. Leave the man alone. If he sees a business opportunity in this venture, let it be at his own risk. After all, business is all about taking risk, and we should be happy for him instead of criticising him. We won’t even help him repay the said loan. We should be happy that as a black man, he saw a business opportunity and took it. We should be celebrating with him, instead of mocking him. Tom MhlangaBraamfontein
