The transport minister’s move to dismiss members of the Acsa (Airports Company SA) board who were on the verge of instituting disciplinary action against the current CEO seems strangely rushed. Is this another Prasa (Passenger Rail Agency of SA) in the making? The previous Prasa CEO was shielded by the current minister until the situation became untenable. Remember the fake engineer with his doctorate and the train engine flip-flop? If Acsa is going the same route the four independent directors are right to take action. The minister should leave corporate and governance issues to the various boards. To dismiss four directors for no reason and without consultation clearly shows a hidden agenda and lack of clarity and consistency on the part of the minister. Muhammad OmarDurban North
