Former public protector Thuli Madonsela has completed her mission. Now it is on record that the state has indeed been captured by the Guptas, and Minister Des van Rooyen in particular is their appointee. If he denied that it would be a joke. When EFF commander-in-chief Julius Malema made public allegations about President Jacob Zuma’s unofficial visit to Dubai — that he went there to drop off R6bn — people did not believe him, but it does not seem so incredible now. When the EFF said the Gupta family were criminals, it was branded racist. And when it refused to allow Gupta-owned television journalists to attend its media conferences, it was taken to court. The Guptas have caused enough havoc in this country — they must go now. Paul CeleRichmond
