Dis-Chem threatened with court action over racist hiring policy
The retailer has confirmed it will no longer employ white people

As the outcry about Dis-Chem’s CEO letter that placed a moratorium on employing white people intensified, the board on Monday moved to distance itself from the tone and wording of the leaked document.
The pharmaceutical retailer’s CEO Ivan Saltzman wrote to staff in September explaining: “We are growing at a fast rate and a few appointments other than white don’t cut it. It’s the ratio between white and black that counts. So when no suitable black is found, and a white is appointed, we need several blacks just to maintain the status quo.”..
