A motion of no confidence is scheduled against Nelson Mandela deputy mayor, Mongameli Bobani, next week on Thursday. Nelson Mandela Bay mayor Athol Trollip told journalists on the sidelines of a media briefing on Thursday in Soweto about this development in the DA-led coalition administration. Bobani, who is a member of the UDM, and Trollip from the DA, both form part of the official coalition that governs the metro. A small team, made up of representatives from Freedom Front Plus, Congress of he People (Cope) and the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP), was tasked with investigating the situation in Nelson Mandela Bay after accusations were made by both Bobani and Trollip. National meetings were held, and letters were sent backwards and forwards to try and resolve the matter, after Trollip removed Bobani from his mayoral council position in May.
