Parliament says it is still waiting for ANC MP Makhosi Khoza to accept an offer of security protection, after threats were made to her safety. Last week Parliament announced that it would work with the police in providing security to Khoza, three months after she and members of her family reported receiving death threats. Khoza previously complained that the police had done nothing about her security concerns. She also faces the threat of being disciplined by the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal. The party’s provincial chairperson Sihle Zikalala said she would be formally charged over recent remarks she has made about President Jacob Zuma. Khoza has not only been a vocal critic of Zuma but has also called for August’s vote of no confidence in Parliament to take place under secret ballot.
