Singapore — Oil prices fell on Wednesday, pulled down by a report of increased US crude inventories and as a darkening economic outlook stoked the expectation of lower fuel demand. Front-month Brent crude oil futures were at $72.33 a barrel at 4.08am GMT, down 13c, or 0.2%, from their last close. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were down 25c, or 0.4%, at $66.79 a barrel. US crude stocks rose by 3.7-million barrels in the week to August 10, to 410.8-million barrels, private industry group the American Petroleum Institute (API) said on Tuesday. Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub rose by 1.6 million barrels, the institute said.
