Restaurant group Famous Brands, the owner of Wimpy, Steers, Debonairs and Fishaways, aims to expand into three more African countries despite its interim profit falling as it blamed load-shedding for reduced demand and increased costs.
The group, which has 311 restaurants in the rest of Africa and the Middle East including some that are company-owned and franchises, did not address the Africa expansion in detail but said in a statement it will “cautiously” enter three new markets: Ivory Coast, Egypt and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)...
