Business Leadership SA (BLSA) says it is concerned about corruption allegations levelled against one of its members, MultiChoice. But, while the organisation has come out with the statement, some believe BLSA is not treating misconduct at private companies with the same harshness it shows the public sector. The organisation’s CEO, Bonang Mohale, says the accusations levelled against the companies are serious and the BLSA condemns any unethical behaviour. In the case of Naspers, the BLSA has had initial conversations with the company about accusations that its subsidiary, MultiChoice, paid the SABC R100m for its 24-hour news channel in exchange for its political influence over digital migration.
