Alongside Mzwanele Manyi’s Decolonisation Foundation and Andile Mngxitama’s Black First Land First bankrolled by the Guptas, the family has provided funding to another Gupta proxy foundation called the Education for Social Justice Foundation (ESJF). The ESJF — led by the disgraced SABC lawyer Lucky Thekisho — is also linked to disgraced former SABC chairman Prof Mbulaheni Maguvhe. ESJF leaders include the controversial ANN7 analyst Tshepo Kgadima, education activist Hendrik Makaneta and journalist Piet Rampedi, as well as disgraced attorney Paul Ngobeni, who together with Thekisho was involved in the Hlaudi Motsoeneng SABC saga as Maguvhe’s legal advisers. Kgadima and Thekisho have been flighted daily by the Gupta-owned ANN7 channel as "experts" and analysts. The ESJF has been targeting chairman of the SABC ad hoc committee Vincent Smith for his role in the parliamentary investigations into Motsoeneng and other Zupta associates.
