It’s not often that you read one of the #GuptaLeaks e-mails and jump with joy. This requires some explanation. One of the recently exposed e-mails concerns a 2014 exchange between Rajesh "Tony" Gupta and Nazeem Howa, then CE of Gupta company Oakbay Investments, concerning the television station ANN7. The e-mail concerns proposed changes to the contract between MultiChoice, the channel supplier, and ANN7, the station. It is immensely pathetic, essentially proposing a trebling of the fee ANN7 was getting at the time from MultiChoice for providing the content, while at the same time suggesting changes to the contract that would prevent MultiChoice from cancelling if ANN7 failed to meet certain benchmarks.
