The DA will file criminal charges against Eskom’s Mathshela Koko, who was recently reinstated to the company after a disciplinary hearing cleared him of charges of misconduct. DA spokeswoman on public enterprises Natasha Mazzone said Monday she would file criminal charges against Koko, slamming the disciplinary hearing as a “sham”. “Earlier this year it came to light that Koko allegedly awarded lucrative Eskom contracts, worth R1bn, to Impulse International, a company linked to his stepdaughter. “He was also apparently involved in approving a R650m loan from Eskom to Gupta-linked Tegeta, in order to ensure that the Guptas purchased Optimum,” Mazzone said in a statement.
