Mmusi Maimane to challenge Parliament in court
DA leader will approach the court on a urgent basis to challenge the use of the army and brutal force in Parliament
10 February 2017 - 08:36
DA leader Mmusi Maimane will go to court on Friday to challenge Parliament and President Jacob Zuma for allowing the army in Parliament and for the use of brutal force. He said he would approach the court on an urgent basis after the chaotic scenes that unfolded in Parliament on Thursday night before Zuma delivered his state of the nation address (Sona). An emotional Maimane led his party in a dramatic walkout, saying their safety was in jeopardy after what sounded like a stun grenade was detonated near the chambers.
