PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma is set to meet with Justice Minister Michael Masutha to discuss the appointment of the next public protector, as a final step before Busisiwe Mkhwebane is confirmed as Thuli Madonsela’s successor.Presidency spokesman Bongani Ngqulunga on Thursday told Business Day: "The president received the recommendation from the speaker last week and it was referred to the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, which is the line function department, for processing. An announcement will be made as soon as the department and the Presidency have concluded the formal processes."The National Assembly approved advocate Mkhwebane’s nomination earlier in September.
